Hi, I’m Joanna

I am a nutrition coach, an educator, an author

I specialise in female wellbeing

I spent 20 years teaching and working in education publishing, before retraining in women’s health and nutrition.  The connective threads within my professional life have been to help others build skills and knowledge to possess a strength and confidence that will carry them through their lives.

Throughout my careers, my work has been supported by evidence-based research — not fads or hacks or shortcuts.

I have lived a life, and I have reached an age where I feel different: as my 30-year-old self was different to my 40-year-old self, so my 55-year-old self knows things are different now.

My love of being outdoors, real food and connection with the natural world have sustained me for decades.

Since I retrained, I now know that solid scientific evidence supports real food, movement and being outside as the foundations of health.  A lot of research has been conducted by men, on men … but women are built differently.

The challenge of our modern world is reconnecting with these simple actions — our world is noisy, our lives are messy, our challenge as women is to reconnect with ourselves through simple actions — going for a walk, growing some herbs, cooking a meal … reconnecting with ourselves through quiet, simple and achievable habits.

I created A Quiet Life to help women learn how to bring together daily habits, and essential knowledge so they can improve their health and wellbeing, slowly, simply and at their pace.

Quiet habits that nourish and sustain you in a quiet life that is your own — sourced from science, based on biology — leading to real results for real women.

Reconnect with yourself — be part of A Quiet Life.

I am based between Northumberland and Oxfordshire, and I work with women in person and online.
